Ethintegrity Advisory Retainer
Senior-level ethics and integrity guidance, available on a retainer basis.
The Ethintegrity Advisory Retainer provides embedded, senior-level advisory support across ethics, integrity, compliance, and culture. It gives leaders consistent access to experienced judgment and context as issues emerge, evolve, and intersect across the organization. Support is proactive and responsive, adapting as organizational needs and risks evolve.
Ethical and governance risk rarely presents itself neatly. It surfaces in gray-area decisions, leadership tension, regulatory pressure, rapid growth, or board scrutiny. In those moments, consistent senior-level judgment embedded in decision-making matters more than reactive advice.
This retainer is often a fit for organizations that are:
- Managing competing priorities with limited senior leadership bandwidth
- Navigating overlapping ethics, compliance, and culture risks
- Needing experienced judgment as issues emerge in real time
- Operating in periods of growth, change, or increased scrutiny
- Looking for trusted advisory support without adding a full-time executive role
What This Enables
Over time, this structure strengthens how leadership evaluates risk and makes decisions. It embeds experienced judgment into executive conversations, improves objectivity when internal dynamics are complex, and enables earlier recognition of emerging ethics, culture, and governance risk.
As a result, leadership benefits from:
- Stronger decision quality under pressure
- Greater visibility into evolving ethics, culture, and governance risk
- Continuity across leadership changes and strategic shifts
Scope is tailored, but retainers typically include:
- Ongoing advisory support across ethics, integrity, compliance, and culture
- Strategic counsel as risks and organizational priorities shift
- Issue triage and executive decision support
- Governance, policy, and leadership guidance
- Preparation for executive, board, and stakeholder discussions
What the Advisory Retainer Includes
How the Advisory Retainer Is Structured
The Ethintegrity Advisory Retainer is structured to align with how leadership operates inside your organization — whether that means providing dedicated ethics leadership, extending existing capacity, or serving as senior counsel during periods of complexity.
Retainer engagements are structured in one of the following ways:
Providing Senior Ethics & Integrity Leadership
When dedicated ethics leadership is not in place, the retainer may function as a fractional leadership role. Support includes shaping strategy, advising senior leadership, and guiding program development and execution.
Extending Leadership Capacity
For organizations with an established Chief Integrity Officer, Chief Compliance Officer, General Counsel, or executive lead, the retainer serves as embedded advisory support to strengthen judgment and accelerate priority initiatives without adding permanent headcount.
Serving as a Strategic Advisory Partner
In some engagements, the retainer functions primarily as senior counsel to executive leadership or the board. This approach is often used during growth, transformation, heightened scrutiny, or sensitive decision-making.
Each engagement is scoped to reflect organizational needs, maturity, and priorities.
How the Retainer Works
Retainer engagements provide structured, ongoing advisory support with defined access, clear cadence, and flexibility to adapt as organizational priorities evolve. Each engagement is scoped based on leadership structure, risk profile, and decision-making dynamics.
Cadence & Access
Ongoing support through scheduled touchpoints and on-demand advisory time as issues arise.
Scope & Flexibility
Focus areas evolve over time to reflect shifting risks, priorities, and organizational needs.
Collaboration
Direct engagement with executive leadership and key stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
Duration
Defined retainer terms provide continuity, accountability, and measurable progress beyond one-off advice.
What leaders say…
”I had the pleasure of working with Nichole Pitts for over two (2) years, as her client, in which she provided compliance advisory services for my organization in the areas of policy development, training, internal communication, and served as my trusted advisor to support me in my role as the senior compliance officer for a wholesale insurance brokerage, with operations in North America, United Kingdom, and Europe. I have been in the ethics, risk management, and compliance arena for over thirty (30) years and have come to appreciate that it takes a certain temperament and skill to effectively serve as a compliance practitioner. Based on my observations these last two years, Nichole possesses such skills, temperament, and diplomacy to know when to challenge my assumptions, but always assisting with the goal of embedding and operationalizing an effective compliance structure and culture. Not only would I highly recommend Nichole to others looking for a sound and creative ethics and compliance professional, but it is also my hope to work with her on future projects.

Working Together
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I REACH OUT?
After you get in touch, we’ll schedule a short introductory conversation to understand your priorities, context, and where you’re navigating complexity. If there’s a clear fit, I’ll outline a recommended advisory structure and next steps. If not, I’ll be honest and, where helpful, point you in a better direction.
This is a conversation, not a sales process.
HOW IS THE ADVISORY RETAINER SCOPED?
Each advisory retainer is scoped based on your organization’s needs, leadership structure, and risk profile.
Rather than a fixed menu of services, the engagement focuses on providing consistent access to experienced judgment and support where it’s most needed. Scope, cadence, and areas of focus are revisited regularly to ensure the work remains relevant as priorities evolve.
HOW DOES THE ADVISORY RETAINER WORK AND WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT MONTH TO MONTH?
Retainer engagements are structured around a defined monthly time allocation and a minimum engagement period to ensure continuity and meaningful progress. Most clients begin with a three-month commitment, which allows time to assess needs, establish working rhythm, and deliver impact beyond reactive support.
Monthly hours are planned in advance and used intentionally across advisory sessions, leadership support, issue escalation, and agreed deliverables. Hours are not designed to roll over month to month, as the value of the retainer comes from consistent engagement rather than banking time.
The number of monthly hours is determined collaboratively at the outset based on scope, organizational complexity, and anticipated needs. If priorities shift or additional support is required in a given month, additional hours can be added by agreement.
This structure ensures flexibility while maintaining accountability, momentum, and clear expectations on both sides.
HOW DOES THIS DIFFER FROM THE ADVISORY SPRINTS OR ONE-OFF CONSULTING?
The Advisory Retainer is designed for organizations that need ongoing, embedded support as issues evolve over time. It provides continuity, institutional context, and consistent access to senior-level judgment across ethics, compliance, and culture-related matters.
Advisory Sprints, by contrast, are time-bound engagements focused on a specific challenge, decision, or inflection point. They are well-suited for organizations that need targeted insight, acceleration, or clarity within a defined scope and timeframe.
One-off consulting typically centers on discrete deliverables or standalone projects. While useful in certain situations, it does not offer the continuity, context, or adaptability required when risks, priorities, and leadership dynamics intersect.
In practice, organizations may begin with an Advisory Sprint to address a specific need and transition into a retainer when ongoing advisory support becomes valuable.
WILL THIS PROGRAM WORK FOR YOUR INDUSTRY?
Ethintegrity works with organizations across industries and geographies, including highly regulated and global environments. Advisory support is tailored to your specific context, regulatory landscape, and cultural considerations, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.
If you’re navigating complex decisions and want to explore whether an advisory relationship is the right fit, let’s talk.
